e commerce is a very interactive module. you have hands on as well as theory base to allow you to have a better understanding of the subject. now in the technology era, eerything has no boundaries, including business, thus grasping the knowledge of technology and business would put us in a competitive advantage. i encourage such modules as you understand as you do however theory percentage should not be so high as for such modules pratical percentage should weigh heavily.
